Invincible 54 just came out.
In a distant future, The Immortal rules the world.
And he wants to die.
Who does he call?
Mark Grayson!
54 issues and still kicking. I really like this title! |

I worship Kirkman for writing two of the industry's best(est) titles: The Walking Dead and Invincible.
Much like TWD, he takes Invincible to places usual comic books don't regularly explore. Was totally shocked by Kid Omniman/Olivier's sociopathic tendencies---Hindi na ata pala tendency after what he did to the Mauler Twins. Wasak kung wasak! You're right, Armored 1, after 54 issues, this title still manages to surprise and kick some invinci-ass!
Got the latest ish yesterday but haven't read it yet, nabagabag ako sa FC #4. Hehe. |

Just curious: does anybody else here wonder if Robot/Rudy might actually have ulterior motives? We already know that he's fully capable of misleading/lying to his colleagues.
I just get a vibe from him that reminds me of The Chief from Doom Patrol, or even Gepetto in Fables, especially since he transferred to the Rex Splode clone body. He may view his ultimate goal as benevolent, or in the best interests of humanity, but he's not afraid to manipulate people to get there. And the belt he designed for Monster Girl could be the next step in his grand scheme. If it doesn't contain some hidden device to either control her, or outright neutralize her in an emergency situation, then at the very least, she now has a sense of utang ng loob to him, for regulating her aging.)
I don't want to believe that *every* quasi authority figure in this series ends up being patently corrupt, but it has been a consistent theme of the book, since Omni Man and Cecil revealed the worst aspects of their natures.
(It's a theme shared with Runaways, which began around the same time. I wouldn't be surprised if the two books eventually cross over; Angstrom Levy definitely seems like the kind of guy who'd align himself with the Pride.) |
